Looking for a Counsellor in South West London?
My website has migrated to: www.elizabethharcourt.co.uk -- please go there to learn more and contact me. I am a senior accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist, and Supervisor, practicing in Chelsea.

My aim is to help clients:
- Gain insight into their difficulties or distress.
- Establish greater understanding of their motivation.
- Understand their historical patterns of behaviour which may no longer work.
- Enable them to find more appropriate ways of coping or to bring about changes in thinking, responses and actions.
trained to help you do it safely.
Depending on the nature of your problem, therapy can be short or long term. Counselling/psychotherapy is not a magical cure. It is a process to help you find within yourself the capacity for understanding and change.
Counselling for individuals
Counselling/psychotherapy is something that people understandably turn to in times of distress, however, it is not just about dealing with crises, or putting out fires.

Counselling/psychotherapy has the powerful potential to enable you to be the person you want to be, to live a more fulfilling life with better quality relationships and to liberate your full potential.
Gaining insight and awareness into who you are now and an understanding of what shaped who you are, are part of the process often described as personal growth or personal development.
These are not easy concepts to put into words because words can be quite crude tools for describing the world of our emotions and feelings.
To understand more how Counselling/Psychotherapy works you could read my colleague Philippa Perry’s Book ‘Couch Fiction’.
Counselling for couples
All relationships go through difficult times - it's how we handle those times that makes the difference between staying together and splitting up. Contact Lizzie to discuss how couples' counselling could benefit your relationship.
