I'm Lizzie Harcourt,an accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with practices in south west London and in Tisbury, near Salisbury, Wiltshire. I see individuals and couples, run workshops, and am a coach/counsellor for a variety of companies. Just some of the issues I work with are: relationships; self esteem; depression; bereavement and loss; stress and anxiety; anger, and work counselling. If you contact me we will make an appointment for an initial meeting when we will have the opportunity of introducing ourselves and deciding whether it is appropriate for us to work together. I decided to train as a therapist after going into therapy myself following my return to England from Kenya and Rwanda where I worked for a number of years. My first challenge was to find a therapist, and what I learnt is that just as I have to shop around for a pair of shoes that fit comfortably so I needed to shop around for a therapist who fitted. If the therapist doesn't 'fit' please let yourself 'try on' others. My own therapy allowed me to learn about my patterns of behaviour and how they no longer supported me. My understanding and awareness of myself grew and with that I was able to make more satisfying choices about how I lived my life. It has been long, slow work but hugely satisfying and challenging and that is why I began training, and feel so passionate about my work. I began practicing in 1996.
Location:
I work in south west London on Edith Grove, between Fulham Road and the Kings Road. The nearest tubes are Earls Court and Fulham Broadway, a 15 minute walk, or Sloane Square, a 20 minute walk, also the 19, 11 and 22 bus routes. There are parking meters nearby.
My practice in Tisbury is 13 miles west of Salisbury and 9 miles south of Warminster.
